- When I was in the UK in November last year (with my North American
- modem), I checked with British Telecom and was told that it was not
- illegal to attach a non-BABT-approved modem to the UK telephone system.
- However, should there be any problems with telecommunications using a
- non-BABT-approved modem, British Telecom would "provide no assistance".
